SOS Children’s Villages

SOS Children’s Villages is an independent,
non-governmental, non-profit, international development organization.

SOS Children’s Villages provides humanitarian and developmental assistance to children in need, and
protects their interest and rights around the world.
 

SOS Children’s Villages and the Akelius Foundation  

Akelius Foundation and SOS Children’s Villages Sweden have been working together since 2009.

• construct and maintain a SOS children’s village in Tirupati in India, 2009
• construct homes in Haiti, 2010
• run a SOS children’s village in the Philippines, 2013
• construct homes in Palestine, 2014

All projects are 25-year commitments.

The Foundation doubled all donations
to SOS Children Villages in Sweden
in December 2019, in December 2023, and in February 2025 for the Gaza campaign.

Including 2024, the total volume of donations is 
EUR 39 million.

Additionally, Akelius Foundation has long-term commitments to five projects with SOS Children Villages.  

For those projects Foundation is committed to paying the remaining EUR 22 million in the coming years.
