Additionally, Akelius Foundation has long-term commitments to five projects with SOS Children's Villages.
Those projects run typically 25 years.
The donation for each project SEK 100 million, corresponding to EUR 9 million, and in total SEK 500 million, corresponding to EUR 45 million.
In December 2025, the Foundation is still committed to paying in the coming years the remaining SEK 220 million, corresponding to EUR 20 million.
In March 2022 Akelius Foundation together with UNICEF and UNHCR organized a donation campaign for Ukraine.
In this campaign Akelius Foundation donated EUR 52 million and Hugo Research Foundation donated EUR 15 million.
Total donation for this Ukraine campaign was
EUR 67 million.
In 2023 Akelius Foundation matched donations of Children of the World’s fundraising through Radiohjälpen and donated SEK 45.3 million.
The foundation donated SEK 20 million, corresponding to EUR 2 million, to Chalmers University of Technology.
In February 2025, the Akelius Foundation doubled all donations that UNICEF Sweden, Save the Children Sweden and SOS Children´s Villages collected for Gaza, and donated SEK 62.5 million, corresponding to EUR 6 million
In December 2025, Akelius Foundation doubled all donations to six Swedish organizations.
As a result, Akelius Foundation will donate EUR 21 million, earmarked for Sudan.
In March 2026, Akelius Foundation doubled the contribution by the Swedish Government and donated SEK 800 million to education of children in Gaza via UNICEF.
